Costa Rica Day 4

Hey y'all, Paige, Julie, and Soap here. We were able to sleep in this morning till 8:00am (much better than the 6:00 AM wake up call the previous days). After breakfast, we headed back to the mountains for our second game against Aserri. The stadium we played at was overlooking the mountains and the city, and we all immediately starting taking photos of the beautiful view. At the stadium, there was an intense men's game before ours which included blow horns, whistles, and many yellow cards. Even though it was 6-2 the parents were still eager for more goals and didn't give the ref a break. We became enthralled with the game and loved all the enthusiasm.

When it was our turn to play, we had ten minutes to quickly warm up. Our opponents were a very talented team with a variety of different ages. They challenged us to play faster and communicate more with each other on the field. After the game we came together and listened to Sagee's testimony. One of the missionaries translated so the other team could understand. Even though we could not communicate with the other team our love for the game was something we shared.

After a team photo, we departed from the stadium, and ate lunch at Tortilleria, a local favorite. The food was amazing, and we all left with full and happy stomachs, ready for a nap.

The next few hours we relaxed at the Villa which was a much needed Sunday rest time.

We were able to end the day attending an English worship service where we studied Ruth 3. Here are a couple of things we learned from the score missionary that preached. First, how to do missions well one of the points being the importance of learning from the culture rather than trying to change it, and that God sometimes ordains tragedy to set the stage for triumph. We ended the service with a few worship songs.

Wicked excited to run another clinic tomorrow, Soap, Paige, and Julie
